What drew you to coaching, and what led you specifically to contrast therapy and breathwork?

I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between the mind and the body, and by what becomes possible when we create the right conditions for both to work together. The cold doesn’t care who you are or what kind of day you’ve had, it simply asks you to be present. And breath is the tool that helps you meet that moment.
What started as something I did for myself became something I wanted to share. Seeing people realize they’re stronger and more capable than they thought never gets old.

What’s one misconception people have about cold plunging or sauna sessions that you’d like to correct?

That it’s about being tough. A lot of people think the goal is to endure as much discomfort as possible, but I actually think it’s the opposite.
It’s about learning how to stay with yourself during discomfort instead of fighting it. The real practice is not surviving the cold, but noticing how you respond to the challenge and realizing that your breath can guide you through it.
When you learn to regulate your breath, you learn to regulate your mind. You come out of the experience feeling stronger, more grounded, and more aligned, because it showed you what you were already capable of. That’s where the growth happens.

What’s a moment with a client that’s stuck with you?

One of my favorite moments is actually something that happens quite often.
Someone will come into class convinced they can’t do the cold plunge. They’ll stand at the edge saying, “I’m not doing it.”
Then we breathe together.
A few minutes later, they’re in the water.
Watching that shift happen in real time is incredible. They usually come out saying, “I didn’t think I could do that.”
That’s why I love coaching. The cold wasn’t the achievement. Believing in themselves was.

What would you say to someone who’s curious but intimidated?

You don’t have to be fearless to start.
You don’t even have to love the cold.
Just come curious.
Everything we do is guided, and you’re always in control. My role isn’t to push you beyond your limits, it’s to help you stay present, use your breath, and support you through the experience.
You might even surprise yourself with what you’re capable of.

What makes the Tevah community different?

The people.
Tevah is one of those rare places where people genuinely celebrate each other’s growth. Whether it’s your first plunge or your hundredth, everyone remembers what it felt like to begin.
There’s no pressure to perform or compete.
It’s a space built on trust, curiosity, and connection, and I think that’s what keeps people coming back.

What’s your favorite part of a typical day coaching at Tevah?

It’s watching people walk out different than they walked in.
Sometimes it’s subtle, they’re breathing a little slower or smiling a little more.
Sometimes it’s a huge confidence boost because they did something they never thought they could.
Knowing I got to hold space for that transformation, even in a small way, is easily my favorite part of coaching.

Finish the sentence: “You’ll know Tevah is working for you when…”

You’ll know Tevah is working for you when the confidence you build inside the sauna and cold plunge starts showing up everywhere else.
When stressful moments don’t shake you as much.
When your breath becomes something you naturally return to.
When you stop asking, “Can I do this?” and start realizing, “I’ve been capable all along.”
